1861-1878 Italy 5 Lire Silver Crown

$30.00

One Italian 5 Lire coin, minted between 1861-1878, in Fine or better circulated condition.  These coins have seen moderate circulation, but the design features and lettering are still defined.

One of the most impressive moustaches to ever be featured on a coin!  The interesting facial hair belongs to Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of unified Italy.  Allied with Garibaldi and his redshirts, Vittorio slowly but surely conquered the individual kingdoms and city-states of Italy en route to unification of the entire peninsula in 1871.
