1922-1925 U.S. Peace Silver Dollar, Choice Brilliant Uncirculated Condition

$40.00

One U.S. Peace Dollar coin, minted between 1922-1925, in Choice Brilliant Uncirculated condition. We sell three tiers of uncirculated Peace dollars, and these Choice BU coins are the 2nd finest. Each coin has strong original luster, with fewer contact marks than our basic Brilliant Uncirculated dollars, but not quite as pristine as our Gem BU dollars.

The successor to the Morgan dollar, these beautiful silver coins were minted from 1921-1935.  The Peace dollar commemorates the end of World War I and a return to international peace.  The obverse side of the coin features a profile portrait of a young Lady Liberty, while the reverse features a proudly defiant bald eagle perched on a mountaintop, bathed in the rays of the setting sun. The Peace dollars were the final silver dollars struck by the U.S. Mint.  Large one dollar coins made a brief return in the 1970's, but the Eisenhower dollars were struck in copper-nickel instead of .900 fine silver.  This old coin is a large, hefty chunk of silver, measuring an inch and a half across and weighing in at nearly an ounce.

The photograph illustrates the quality of the coin you will receive, not the exact item. Years and mintmarks will be of our choosing.
